WMS

Kingston’s Skytop Steakhouse and Brewing Company will host The Organiks Friday, February 20. The Organiks features Bruce Katz, Randy Ciarlante Jay Collins and Chris Vitarello.

Hammond B3 organist Katz (www.brucekatzband.com) hails from the New England area and is best known for his affiliation with Ronnie Earl & the Broadcasters. He has a lengthy background in classical piano, but later transitioned to blues and jazz. He’s worked and/or toured with legends Gregg Allman, Chuck Berry, Bo Didley, John Hammond, Emmylou Harris, Levon Helm and the late David “Fathead” Newman, among many others. Katz is a current Woodstock-area resident.

Drummer/vocalist Ciarlante, longtime resident of the region, was recruited into The Band in 1990 to replace Richard Manuel who died in 1986. Ciarlante has worked and/or toured with Eric Anderson, Helm, Taj Mahal, Jim Weider, Professor Louie & The Crowmatix, and many more.

Singer-songwriter Collins (www.jaycollinsband.com) is a multi-instrumentalist, playing saxophone, flute and piano. Hailing from Portland, Collins established himself on the New York City music scene in the early ‘90s. He’s worked with French pianist Jacky Terrason, jazz drummer and band leader Dick Berk, and Portland area jazz musicians Mel Brown and Ron Steen. Collins currently leads his band, The Kings County Band. He regularly plays at Levon Helm’s Midnight Ramble and is married to Helm’s daughter Amy.

Guitarist Vitarello (www.chrisvitarello.com) has worked with The Bulletproof Blues Band, Live Society, Jimmy McGriff and others. He’s performed at numerous festivals, including Kentucky’s WC Handy Blues Festival, White Mountain Blues and Boogie Festival, Live in Bermuda Jazz Festival and The Mississippi Valley Blues Festival.

The show begins at 9 p.m. and there is no cover charge. This is one you don’t want to miss!
